New Zealand's Pipin' Hot is a contemporary pipe band combining traditional melodies and bag-pipe standards with rock, world, and new age instrumentation.City of Invercargill Caledonian Pipe Band Inc. Founded in 1896, the band is believed to be the oldest civilian pipe band in the southern hemisphere. The band travels throughout the country to compete and is currently one of New Zealand's top grade two pipe bands.
Highly skilled in both music and marching it has toured Scotland, Canada, Japan, Australia and the United States of America. It played at the acclaimed Nova Scotia International Tattoo in 2001 and has twice performed at the prestigious Edinburgh Military Tattoo (1998 ,2000 & 2004).
